Web series review - Cheesecake

Cheesecake
Platform: MXPlayer

They say "A dog is a man's best friend" & after watching this series you will feel that it's so true.
A light hearted drama / comedy story where its about a dog that changes the lives of all characters in the story. The way the series have handled relationships and emotions behind it is truely worth watching.

Cheesecake
Jitendra Kumar and Akanksha Thakur are back together in this series after very long time. The storyline is predictable but definately watchable due to their chemistry & acting. Akanksha Thakur stands out during the emotional moments. Mahesh Manjrekar's part in this series is quite good and worth watching along with Ashwini Karsekar. Comprising of just 5 episodes, this series is truely worth watching & will truely help you enlighten your mood. This web series tells us how pets emotionally connect with us. A truly emotional ride for dog lover and pet lovers.

Dinner Date by the beach

November 24, 2019 3 Comments
Dinner Dates are supposed to be the most romantic thing to plan on various occasions like proposals, anniversary celebrations etc.

It is one of those moments where you want to make your loved ones feel extra special. What better can it be than planning it close to the beach, right below the moonlight, between beautiful lights, flowers and wine❤️ Just you and your partner! Isn't it a perfect one?

Being a Bollywood lover and like every other gal, I wanted to have a perfect date by the sea. To dream about it is very easy, isn't it? but planning one can be tough. So, there started my hunt to find someone who could arrange this for me in Goa. That's how I found tablenumberseven (Adelia).

She helped me with couple of options close to where I stayed. One of the options that I narrowed down to got cancelled because of some reason. When I was completely lost and loosing the little hope that I had, Adelia helped me with this new contact. So, that's how I came in contact with Ankith Kedar from Sochi Beach. I just spoke to this guy on the day when I wanted to have this date and this guy did everything possible.

From the time, I spoke to him I was sure this is going happen. He put all his efforts in terms food, decor and most importantly, he was never said 'No', it's not possible even though I had contacted him on the same day at the very last minute. Sochi Beach is a beach bar on the Benaulim Beach where our date was planned. They had just opened it and we were the privileged one to inaugurate such kind of thing as a couple.

All the while I was still worried as to how it will turn out. In the evening when we arrived to this place, the view of the set-up done was so delightful that not just me but my husband was awestruck too. He couldn't believe how & when did I plan all this. Seeing that twinkle in his eyes and happiness on his face that he loved it, I was very happy. That's the feeling you get which can't be expressed in words but can only be felt by seeing that happiness in your someone special's face ❤️

The food by Chef Aaron was equally amazing. We had a very good time and I'm sure we will treasure this beautiful memories that we had while we celebrated our 6 month anniversary at Sochi Beach.

Thanks a ton guys for such lovely arrangements and all the very best for the upcoming season which I'm sure would be an amazing experience for everyone who visits this place just like we had. Here's their Instagram page.

Sad way of departing Ganpati

September 20, 2019 0 Comments
Ganesh Chaturthi, the most popular and loved festival celebrated with huge zeal and enthusiasm in India. The celebration lasts for 10 to 11 days, Ganesha idol is worshiped. We all know the amount of devotion, love that we bestow upon Him but it hurts me to see why do people become so inconsiderate during visarjan time?

Ganesh idols that came back on the shore post immersion

It is the same old story every year. Most of the people get idols made of plaster of paris. Instead why not move to the eco-friendly way. If you still don't realise then you should definitely visit the beaches post visarjan day. The same idol whom you worshiped, took care of is lying on the sea shore with its broken head, hand and what not.
If this is the case then what's the point of worshiping these idols at home when we can't respect it or take care of it.

By doing this, we are also destroying the flora and fauna of the sea. We are polluting the water and creating imbalance on the earth. If that's not all for you all then I don't know what is? It's high time, we realize and take actions that we take care of mother earth for our future generations.

Eco-friendly ganpati made by a family friend

Eco-friendly ganpati made by my neighbour

Go for eco-friendly Ganesha which can be immersed at home, used as mud for planting. By doing this, we will always have Bappa with us. The plants will definitely add beauty to your house and give you clean air to breath. I have friends who have made idols on their own or have either moved to eco-friendly ways. I would request you all to promise yourself if you haven't moved to eco-friendly idols then please do 🙏🏻

Here's an article that was recently published on mid-day to read more on the visarjan details on Juhu and Dadar beaches.

Movie Review - Kalank

April 19, 2019 0 Comments
One word review: Avoidable

A love story based on the pre-Independence British era in 1945 where the young Roop (Alia Bhatt) is torn between respect for husband Dev (Aditya Roy Kapur) and her newfound love for Zafar (Varun Dhawan). Their back stories unfolds and haunt their present and decide their future during the India’s Partition era.

What's Good: There are quite a few good stuff that includes - Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan with their screen presence & chemistry. Alia looks beautiful and delicate from start till the end, all thanks to her amazing costumes. Kunal Khemu shines in his small role with grey shade. The sets and the design looks great & humongous.

Kalank movie review

What's Bad: Too many things to be honest starting with the chemistry. There is absolutely no chemistry between the actors be it Madhuri & Sanjay to Aditya & Sonakshi. Their expressions looks forced and the love isn't visible in any scenes they portray. The length 2 hours and 48 minutes is too long for people to sit and watch the movie. After the first 30 mins, the movie becomes predictable and it feels a decade inside the theater. The direction and the screenplay is too bad that the dialogues seems boring in the course of the movie. Many scenes are left incomplete in the movie and the characters are not well written. The "Bull Fight" scene looks kiddish and has bad VFX which makes it hilarious rather than intense.

Overall, a movie which totally justifies the title and can be avoided easily. With a low rating of 2.5/10 in IMDB, its good to avoid this movie and watch 'Devdas" instead ;)

Web series review - Criminal Justice on Hotstar Specials

April 09, 2019 3 Comments
Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Furia, this is an Indian adaptation of a BBC series of the same name. The series revolves around Aditya (Vikrant Massey) who gets accussed of murder after having one night stand with a girl under the influence of drugs. The plot revolves around him on how the justice is done.

Criminal Justice Review
Coming to the performances, the central character Vikrant Massey, what an actor he is. Each and every character which he has enacted is just fabulous from being hero's friend in Lootera, Death in the Gunj to Mirzapur, Broken..but beautiful, Made in Heaven and now Criminal Justice. One can say he is a rare talent who can take any role and perform outstandingly well. His expressions, dialogue delivery is just apt to the role from being a fearful boy at the start to fearless person. Eagerly waiting for next release Chhapak. Pankaj Tripathi, one of the most lovable and well known actors in recent times is just simply outstanding in his role as Adv. Madhav Mishra. He aces his character with dry humour, making you smirk at his witty lines. Do watch for his conversation with the psychologist he consults. Jackie Shroff makes his debut in a digital series and aces it "bole to jahkkas bhidu". Pankaj Saraswat is monotone and stereotyped in his role of an honest police officer. Anupriya Goenka is good in her part and supports Tripathi well.

Review on Criminal Justice - Hotstar

On the whole, a worth watching series & will keep you glued to the series despite a lengthy 10 episode series. Do watch it on Hotstar if you are a fan of crime based series & the fabulous actors trio.

Masala Library - BKC

April 04, 2019 0 Comments
My long wait to visit this place finally came true, thanks to my new company 😊 Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra is an amazing restaurant to visit for a wonderful experience. The most important thing to keep in mind is to have a booking done during peek time to avoid being disappointed. It has got a nice ambiance with courteous staff to help you with the best of recommendations.

They have three varieties of offer for us -
1. Buffet
2. A la carte
3. Corporate Menu

We went ahead with a corporate menu which was 5-course meal:) The portions are less but 5 meal is more than enough to fill your stomach.
So, we were welcomed with this complementary drink of coconut water with tiny mango pulp. This was served in such a way that it resembled a bird's nest with eggs. (hats off to their presentation)

Welcome drink - coconut water + mango pulp
1) We started with a snack - Charcoal Papad Chat. Like the name suggests, it tasted like a proper chat but in small portion.

Charcoal papad chat
2) In soup, we had lemon coriander shorba. A healthy one!

3) Then began the starters with Prawns Balchao Kulcha. The stuffing within the tiny kulcha of prawns was too delicious.

Prawns Balchao Kulcha

Followed by Lahori seekh kebab, amchoor and butter jhol. So, the best part of each meal was its presentation. Also the waiter would narrate us the food delicacy in detail of what it consists of.

After having half the meal and reaching to the main course, they served us these misti doi sticks with the strawberry syrup on top to get our taste buds back in track.

Mishti doi
Under main course, we had Butter chicken with butter roti. And honestly, we were full by the time main course arrived. Like I mentioned earlier, though the portions were small but since there were many options, we were full.

Finally the most awaited part of the meal was the desserts. Inspite of hardly having any space in my tummy, I couldn't miss the amazing rasmalai tres leches.

Rasmalai tres leches
Last but not the least, we had Pan Candy floss to sum up our stupendofantabulously magical meal at Masala Library 💓 The food was good, staff was courteous, price is definitely on the higher end but then at times you need to pay high cost to facilitate such amazing experiences.

Movie Review - Photograph

April 01, 2019 1 Comments
Photograph - Ritesh Batra (director of LunchBox) brings yet another innocent love story between a street photographer played by Nawazzudin Siddiqui & an aspiring CA student played by Sanya Malhotra. Nawazuddin & Sanya, unique couple in itself gives the perfect blend of romance.

Photograph - Movie Review

This movie is about the budding romantic relationship between characters of two completely different backgrounds and the director is successful in capturing the nervousness, the newness and the hesitance of a growing relationship. The film has little dialogue, similar to real life situations like these, and focuses on capturing gestures. Nawaz plays his role to perfection, his sheer brilliance in delivering minimal dialogues and playing with emotions stands out. Sanya, is absolutely amazing in her calm, composed and measured performance of Miloni (meaning: achiever). Farrukh Jaffer as Dadi really binds the whole movie, and gives us the light-hearted laughs that any romantic story should have. Ritesh Batra, who delivers a convincing comeback, is an artist that the industry must be proud of.

Movie Review on Photograph
They say the camera never lies but the camera is a tool of glorification as much as it is an instrument of accuracy. Photograph is such a movie that thrives on silences, and it is beautiful to acknowledge how, at times, they overcompensate for the absence of words.

Capital Social - BKC

March 22, 2019 0 Comments
Having recently moved to BKC, this happens to be my first exploration - Capital Social. Why this one? because they had Zomato Gold (1+1 food)😉

I visited this place on Friday afternoon, so let me warn you it is not the ideal time of you have to rush. There's waiting plus food takes a while to reach your table and so does the waiter. So, kindly plan the time to have better experience.

Ambiance is good. They play loud music so if you want to have a peaceful meal then this is not the place for you. Food is amazing ❤️

What did we have?
A) Murgh Ghee Roast - Must try! I just loved it.

B) Achari Basa - If you are the one who is fond of pickle and Basa fish then you should definitely go for it.. It has mashed potato below the Basa which makes it filling.

C) Grilled chicken peri peri sizzler - Nicely cooked chicken with peri peri sauce.

D) Oreo mud pot shake - It's not a plant but oreo shake with a great presentation.. As awesome as it looks so does it tastes

It was completely satisfying meal excluding the wait time. The staff was courteous and did give us good recommendations. As far as I understand, it is best to visit this place for an amazing night life.

Bhandardara Lakeside camping

February 04, 2019 2 Comments
Life is better when you add fresh air, a warm campfire, bright stars and lake besides 😊 That's how my weekend was!

Long due wish of mine on my bucket list is finally achieved! And it was going for camping. I had been to Bhandardara Lakeside camping over the weekend organized by Yatrik - The Wanderer. The excitement level was at peak after hearing from number of experiences, stories of friends and colleagues. I also did my research to ensure, I'm all set for campaign. I also created a checklist to make sure that I'm carrying all that is needed for this memorable moment.

Bhandardara Lakeside camping

Before we get into the details, what excited me the most are their itinerary which included (from their social media pages) -
✔ To and Fro Kasara Railway Station
✔ Evening Snacks
✔ Barbeque (Veg/Non Veg) - Limited
✔ Dinner (Veg / Non - Veg)
✔ Bonfire and Music
✔ Morning Breakfast
✔ Boating
✔ Camping under the Stars and besides the Lake
✔ Mattresses & Lanterns
✔ Drinking Water
✔ Washrooms Available

Additional Entertainment :-
Cricket | Volleyball | Badminton | Football | UNO | Ludo | Monopoly | Scrabble | Mini Casino

All this at a very reasonable price (might vary from time to time)
Package Cost :- Triple Sharing :-
💰 1,500/- Per Person

Double Sharing :-
💰 1,700/- Per Person

Boating
It was wonderful experience. The travel time from Kasara Station to the camping point was little hectic and around 2 hours of journey. In case, you are not very comfortable with the rides, then carry some medicines to avoid vomiting. We heaved a sigh of relief once we reached the camping site. Like  I mentioned earlier, they had lot of games, we played Volley ball, Badminton, Ludo and cricket too. We also sat near the lake for a while which was at a walk-able distance.  The organizers ensured everything was taken care of from evening to tea to dinner & then breakfast in the morning. The most concerning thing for me would be the washrooms and I was happy that inspite of so many people still it was clean.Though it was at a distance where one had to walk up away from the camping site. Food was also good.

Camping night
It was super-cold. The most amazing time was at night, before the camp fire, below the stars and in between known & unknown people. It was that moment when one could truly become philosophical and think about life! The next moment was the early morning sunrise near the lakeside. How I wish I could stop time right there but unfortunately that's something which I could just wish. All these beautiful memories will be cherished for life! I would definitely recommend everyone to experience this once in their lifetime. I can go on and on but still the experience cannot be explained in words.

Movie Review - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ELKDTAL)

February 02, 2019 0 Comments
One Word Review - PATHBREAKER

Once in a while there comes a movie which is dedicated to a particular group of people. ELKDTAL is such a movie which focuses on same-sex couple and throws light on positivity, acceptance and most importantly LOVE.

Movie Review - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ELKDTAL)

The story starts with Sweety (Sonam K Ahuja) a girl from Moga, Punjab being subjected to matchmaking by her family members especially her brother Bablu (Abhishek Duhan) & dad (Anil Kapoor). Sweety meets Sahil Mirza (Rajkummar Rao), a struggling writer in Delhi and Sahil fells in love with her at first sight and goes down to Punjab along with Chatroji (Juhi Chawla), her "so called" friend and struggling actress as a suitor without knowing that Sweety likes him or not. It is then that Sahil gets to know that Sweety is not in LOVE with him but a girl named Kuhu (Regina Cassandra). How things pan out and what happens when the family knows about it marks the further story of the movie.

The movie starts with a very breezy feeling giving you the opportunity to build up the story ahead. Juhi Chawla & Anil Kapoor reunites on silver screen after 18 years but still their chemistry and comic timing is perfect and upto the mark. They make you smile in the moments they share screenspace. Juhi Chawla in particular gives a "mind-shattering" performance and a scene-stealer. Rajkummar Rao is impressive in his looks and he lives the character. Sonam K Ahuja who has maximum screenspace unfortunately fails to deliver a good performance as her dialogues doesn't seem to be comprehensive enough. On the other hand, South actress Regina does a great performance in the limited screen time, she acts quite convincingly. Duhan as Sweety's brother is another performancer to look out for. He has portrayed his character with sheer brilliance.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ELKDTAL) movie review

Kudos should go to Director Shelly Chopra Dhar along with writer Gazal Dhaliwal for such a  attempt. To portray LOVE on screen is easy but a kind of LOVE which is difficult to accept in this modern society is comendable. The movie focused on the point which says LOVE is LOVE and is not based on any gender, race, caste or any other factors. It starts from the heart and ends to the heart and should be accepted whatever gender, race, caste it may be. A lovely movie made with a pure heart deserves a watch. A movie which will prove to be a turning point in Indian cinema & also society by such topics and acceptance all over the world.

Chang bhal - Lower Parel

January 30, 2019 0 Comments
Chang bhal is among those restaurants that will not only satisfy your taste buds but also give you value for your money. Usual, human tendency is that when you go out for food, you tend to spend a lot of money but friends there are restaurants that serve best of food at a reasonable price too.

So, let's see this place as one of the options on NM Joshi Marg in Lower Parel. It's famous for it's North Indian, Malwani and Chinese cuisine. The place is fully crowded during lunch time. The waiters are very courteous and service too is quick.

We opted for Malwani cuisine which included -
A) Bombil Fry - Fresh & perfectly crisp

Bombil fry

B) Kombdi wade - This happens to be my all time favorite. So, there's no chance that I could miss this one. Chicken gravy was delicious 😋

Kombdi wade

C) Prawns fry - Again tasty but lil oily

D) Thali - Their sol kadi is to die for.

E) Kharwas - The quantity was amazing. It was the perfect thing to end our meal.

Bombay Coffee House - Phoenix Market City, Kurla

January 27, 2019 0 Comments
The Bombay Coffee House also known as BCH is one of the many cafes opened in Phoenix Market City, Kurla. The mall which is crowded on most of the days and especially weekends when there is hardly any place to sit, this came to our rescue. I was overwhelmed with the simple yet attractive decor of this place. You can see the seating arrangements, they are perfectly comfortable.

It is one place where I'm sure of heading to when I need some peace and my cup of coffee.

The Bombay Coffee House - Phoenix

The Bombay Coffee House - Phoenix

We had few items from their menu based on the waiters recommendations and trust me, I was overwhelmed with it. What did we have?
A) Iced coconut coffee - Yes! You read it right. A little bit of twist with a flavor of coconut to my coffee. Worth the try.

B) Banana Salted Caramel - It was kind of heavy drink and pleasant in taste. Sorry, no picture 😁

Iced coconut coffee and Mediterranean Sandwich

C) Mediterranean Sandwich - It was utterly delicious made of brown bread and filled with Aubergine, bell pepper, zucchini, black olives and few other exotic veggies.

D) White sauce pasta - We topped it all with this perfect creamy pasta.

Movie Review - Uri: The Surgical Strike

January 13, 2019 6 Comments
One Word Review: ADMIRABLE

Based on the 2016 terrorist attack on Air Force Base in URI, this movie showcases the events which lead to the event and which followed it. Uri: The Surgical Strike depicts all the realtime incidents which happened and how the surgical strike was executed in a realistic manner.

Movie Review on Uri

The story starts with the protagonist Major Vihaan Shergil (Vicky Kaushal) who fights his personal battles as well as leading the Special Forces in Indian Army. He along with his team perform the most dangerous and the most unrealistic war with Pakistan as the after effects of the Uri attack which were being denied by Pakistan.

Coming to the acting, Vicky Kaushal has developed from each and every movie he has acted in. Starting as a skinny lad in Masaan to a best friend in Sanju and now Major Vihaan Shergill, he has really put all his hardwork physically and mentally into it and which is shown throughout the movie. He is flawless throughout the movie and plays his part to perfection. Clearly one of his best performances in his short career span. Paresh Rawal plays his part well and his dialogue delivery and experssions are superb. Mohit Raina gets an interesting character to portray and he justifies it completely. Yami Gautam does a fine job as another Intelligence officer but gets a limited scope. Kirti Kulhari has limited screenspace but portrays it well. She should have been explored a bit more. Aditya Dhar's direction is mindblowing, being a first timer he has done a great job and is one of the directors to look out for in the near future. The combat sequences, ambush, gunfire, fistfights, sniper shots are realistically shot. The camera tactfully follows the soldiers like a shadow. Sound effects are crucial to combat film storytelling, and this war drama uses it effectively for most parts.

Uri - the surgical strike
The movie is intriguing and will make you scream and clap during the warfare scenes. It is a fitting tribute to the Indian Army who day in day out serves the nation and we can in no way repay the sacrifices they do. The movie puts a spotlight on the work which they do thanklessly. Truely URI: The Surgical Strike is 138 minutes of Sheer Brilliance and a MUST WATCH..The start of 2019 for Bollywood is on a HIGH !!!

IMDB- 9.4/10 💪🏼
