February 04, 2019 2 Comments
Life is better when you add fresh air, a warm campfire, bright stars and lake besides 😊 That's how my weekend was!

Long due wish of mine on my bucket list is finally achieved! And it was going for camping. I had been to Bhandardara Lakeside camping over the weekend organized by Yatrik - The Wanderer. The excitement level was at peak after hearing from number of experiences, stories of friends and colleagues. I also did my research to ensure, I'm all set for campaign. I also created a checklist to make sure that I'm carrying all that is needed for this memorable moment.

Boating
It was wonderful experience. The travel time from Kasara Station to the camping point was little hectic and around 2 hours of journey. In case, you are not very comfortable with the rides, then carry some medicines to avoid vomiting. We heaved a sigh of relief once we reached the camping site. Like  I mentioned earlier, they had lot of games, we played Volley ball, Badminton, Ludo and cricket too. We also sat near the lake for a while which was at a walk-able distance.  The organizers ensured everything was taken care of from evening to tea to dinner & then breakfast in the morning. The most concerning thing for me would be the washrooms and I was happy that inspite of so many people still it was clean.Though it was at a distance where one had to walk up away from the camping site. Food was also good.

Camping night
It was super-cold. The most amazing time was at night, before the camp fire, below the stars and in between known & unknown people. It was that moment when one could truly become philosophical and think about life! The next moment was the early morning sunrise near the lakeside. How I wish I could stop time right there but unfortunately that's something which I could just wish. All these beautiful memories will be cherished for life! I would definitely recommend everyone to experience this once in their lifetime. I can go on and on but still the experience cannot be explained in words.

Movie Review - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ELKDTAL)

One Word Review - PATHBREAKER

Once in a while there comes a movie which is dedicated to a particular group of people. ELKDTAL is such a movie which focuses on same-sex couple and throws light on positivity, acceptance and most importantly LOVE.

Movie Review - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ELKDTAL)

The story starts with Sweety (Sonam K Ahuja) a girl from Moga, Punjab being subjected to matchmaking by her family members especially her brother Bablu (Abhishek Duhan) & dad (Anil Kapoor). Sweety meets Sahil Mirza (Rajkummar Rao), a struggling writer in Delhi and Sahil fells in love with her at first sight and goes down to Punjab along with Chatroji (Juhi Chawla), her "so called" friend and struggling actress as a suitor without knowing that Sweety likes him or not. It is then that Sahil gets to know that Sweety is not in LOVE with him but a girl named Kuhu (Regina Cassandra). How things pan out and what happens when the family knows about it marks the further story of the movie.

The movie starts with a very breezy feeling giving you the opportunity to build up the story ahead. Juhi Chawla & Anil Kapoor reunites on silver screen after 18 years but still their chemistry and comic timing is perfect and upto the mark. They make you smile in the moments they share screenspace. Juhi Chawla in particular gives a "mind-shattering" performance and a scene-stealer. Rajkummar Rao is impressive in his looks and he lives the character. Sonam K Ahuja who has maximum screenspace unfortunately fails to deliver a good performance as her dialogues doesn't seem to be comprehensive enough. On the other hand, South actress Regina does a great performance in the limited screen time, she acts quite convincingly. Duhan as Sweety's brother is another performancer to look out for. He has portrayed his character with sheer brilliance.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (ELKDTAL) movie review

Kudos should go to Director Shelly Chopra Dhar along with writer Gazal Dhaliwal for such a  attempt. To portray LOVE on screen is easy but a kind of LOVE which is difficult to accept in this modern society is comendable. The movie focused on the point which says LOVE is LOVE and is not based on any gender, race, caste or any other factors. It starts from the heart and ends to the heart and should be accepted whatever gender, race, caste it may be. A lovely movie made with a pure heart deserves a watch. A movie which will prove to be a turning point in Indian cinema & also society by such topics and acceptance all over the world.
