I visited Zaffran located on the 1st floor in R city with my colleagues on the last working day of the year 2017 so our prime focus was good food with good company. One of my colleagues made excellent arrangements and booked this place for us with good discount.
As soon as we entered, we were pretty impressed with the ambiance. It looked nice with good seating arrangements. Since we were super hungry, we ordered the below things and were waiting patiently for the food to arrive.
Drinks
1. Sangria - We tried the red sangria. It was chilled, good with nice fruits in it.
2. Kacchi kairi margarita - Totally refreshing and best in taste. With the presentation, it looks more classy & sassy ;)
Food
A) Starters -
1. Masala Papad - Until our main orders would reach us, we ordered masala papad. It was nice, cruncy.
2. Chicken Tandoori - It wasn't that great. Not much tasty or juicy like how tandoori should ideally be.
3. Mutton Galouti Kebab - 5 star! It was the best of all that we ordered. Highly impressed & recommended. The mutton kebab was very tasty. It had a small paratha under the kebab. I would love to visit this place again especially for this dish.
4. Afghani Murgh Tikka - This was good but nothing can beat the galouti kebab.
B) Main Course -
1. Murgh musallam - This dish has good quantity and tastes good. I prefer order half if you are less in number else go for full which would serve a group of 8 members.
2. Butter chicken - If you don't want to experiment then you should go ahead with this dish.
3. Egg curry - It was just wow. Spicy, tasty and mouth watering.
4. Butter roti/naan/kulcha - For the above gravies, we ordered all these and were not at all disappointed.
5. Jeera rice - The quantity was ok. It was good.
C) Dessert - Both the sweet dishes that were ordered were paisa vasool.
1. Phirni - Kesar Pherni tasted like heaven. Even the one's who said no to sweets were having it again.
2. Gulab jamun - It was hot and presented in a nice container. Though for me, it was too sweet.
I would highly recommend this place as it served very tasty food. Overall we had a good experience and were satisfied :)
