Pakka Local Bar

March 17, 2018 0 Comments
Go-to place for loud music, good food and gala time. This is a new place opposite Times Square. Most convenient for people working in the Sakinaka, Marol locality. The entrance charmed me.

Pakka Local Bar

Pakka Local Bar bollywood ambience

It's a two stored place. We were sitting on the ground floor where there was DJ. The light was dim and the music was loud whereas on the first floor, it was bright and the music was not that loud. The decor was nice with bollywood dialogues and the staff was very nice and friendly.

Bollywood style

We ordered for the below things based on the waiter's recommendations -
A) Chilly chicken - Medium spicy, small pieces of chicken with minimal gravy. Good in taste.
Chicken chilly

B) Fish koliwada - Just amazing! It tasted very nice. Have it when it's hot as this tastes best when eaten on time. They didn't serve mayonnaise along with the dish so we asked them for it and they quickly got it for us.

C) White sauce pasta - This was also very tasty served with two slice of garlic bread. It had good amount of chicken and mushrooms.. Loved it!

The best thing about this place that we saw was all were enjoying, dancing and having a good time with family and friends. Such atmosphere makes you feel better.

Though if you are a person who doesn't like loud music then I would suggest you to sit upstairs where music is not that loud.

A little expensive when it comes to food but drinks were aptly priced. I would definitely recommend this place to people who are looking for a change.

Me Time

March 13, 2018 0 Comments
The most valuable time for any individual is the 'Me time' but these days people have time for everything else on this earth except for the me time. Life is become so fast that people just keep running to chase their dreams without taking a pause/hold unless they are destined to do so there's nothing that can stop them.

Mommies and me-time

But have you lately realized that when was it last that you took time all for yourself - to do something that really makes you happy? Something that refreshes or rejuvenates you. Something that gives you peace and a sense that you are alive and not a machine that needs to run endlessly. That's the time I'm talking about - Me time.

Giving yourself sometime doesn't necessarily mean you are being selfish but it is a process where you are finding yourself. We all need to cut ourselves some slack for the sake of our sanity.

Why should do we need time for ourselves?

1. Improves concentration
2. Reboots our brain
3. Helps us unwind
4. Makes us more productive
5. Helps us in discovering a new you
6. Enhances our relations

Time to look for your happiness
The lack of "me" time is widest among parents. Dads get around 28 hours of me time weekly whereas mothers get 25. It is also necessary that kids to get this time for a better overall growth but the activities that each group take may vary from person to person.

I would say block your me time and use it wisely. There are number of things that you might have wished to do but never gave yourself a priority. Make it a necessity now by just sparing half an hour for yourself.

My me time - watching the sunset at the beach
So, guys get started by identifying what you feel like doing in your me time - dancing, singing, watching movie, gardening, reading a book, getting a massage, taking up some sports or could be playing. Forget the guilt, spend some time to rebuilt - the lost YOU! Pick up any hobby, see how it makes a difference 😊

Like and share my piece of work if you enjoy reading my posts. This would really encourage me to spend more time on my "me" time 😊

Sbarro Pizza - R city mall

March 09, 2018 0 Comments
The craving for pizza on a Friday pulled my colleagues & me to this place. The first thing I would like to appreciate about this place is the way, the staff welcomes you here, "Welcome to Sbarro" 😊 Whoever it be, the moment they find someone passing from their place towards to the food court, they would welcome you. Their efforts are flawless by the time we left this place even we were saying the same sentence and in the same tune.

This is one of the joint where they serve not just the entire pizza but the slices too. Mind it guys, these slices itself are so filling at times that you would be full. That's what happened with me on having just two slices.
What did I have? Here you go -
A) Peri peri chicken — This had a kind of tangy taste.

Chicken makhani

B) Chicken Makhai — This happened to be our favorite as it was spicy & tasted just perfect for our taste buds.

There are plenty of other options too to explore so they are going to be on my list for my next visit especially stuffed chicken pizza. They have good combo meal options that helped us as we were a larger group.. Value for money I would say😊

Abhinandan - Casual Dining

March 06, 2018 0 Comments
If you are in Ghatkopar & want to avoid the crowd at R city & yet want to taste delicious food then I would recommend - Abhinandan. Located on the LBS road having a decent ambiance & courteous staff, this place is one of my personal favorite. I have been to this place 2-3 times & whatever I have ordered has always been tasty.

Last week on account of Holi, my colleagues & me visited this place. We had all the below food items -
1) Tomato Dhania Shorba - Delicious! As the name suggests a light tomato soup, perfect to taste with fresh croutons.

2) Manchow soup veg -  A little spicy. Though I'm a hardcore non-vegetarian but I liked the veg manchow soup here.
3) Masala Papad - Crisp & not too spicy
4) Chicken Shola kebab - This was just amazing, lip smacking. 100% recommended for the kebab lovers. Amazing marinated with spices.

5) Chicken Tikka Masala - It was enough to serve 3 people with 5 pieces.

6) Paneer Tikka Masala - Good in taste

7) Mini Roti ki tokri - I just loved this concept of theirs. This tokri had 3 varieties - paratha, palak roti and plain roti.  They serve 2 of each so in all it had 6 mini items of what I mentioned which were not actually mini but little smaller than the regular size.

8) Lemon soda - To top it, finally we had lemon soda 😊

They also give Corporate discount & many people from nearby offices come to this place for their amazing food. Therefore, even in the afternoon this place has good crowd.

Overall the food is always awesome so I would definitely recommend it!

Finding Your Passion

March 03, 2018 0 Comments
Warren Buffett’s words, “Take a job that you love” and the prolific thoughts of Maya Angelou who said “…pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” That's my key to success which I follow and will continue to follow as it gives me happiness in what I'm doing. You find your bliss or passion in a career or hobby and you go for it or you find a way to be passionate about your current career. So, I pass the same to my students, friends and colleagues.

Warren Buffett's words

Here are some strategies to help you find your passion:

1. Satisfaction Check – Satisfaction is very important as it is something that will help you stick to what you are doing. We need to look at each and every phase of your life and determine your level of satisfaction with each area. You should consider your career, finances, health and wellness, relationship with your significant other, family and friends, personal growth and development, physical surroundings, fun and recreation and anything else that is important to you. You can rate each area on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest level of satisfaction (your bliss) and 1 being a low or no level of satisfaction. Then I suggest look at each of the areas and analyze the gap. Determine what steps can you take to change the gap to either reduce it or eliminate it. For example: If you rated your career a 7 out of 10. What would make your satisfaction level with your career a 10? Perhaps more clients, less travel time to work, a better relationship with your boss, etc. Once you’ve identified all the items that could make a difference in your level of satisfaction you need to commit to action. Taking even one action will move you one step closer to a higher level of satisfaction in that area of your life.

Satisfaction Check

2. Values Check - Identify what’s important to you. Be clear about your morals, values and what’s most important to you that helps you make better decisions more often. Make a list of what’s most important to you in your life right now. Then rank everything on the list from highest priority to lowest priority. Take a really close look at your top 5 values. These are your most important values. How closely aligned are these top 5 values to how you spend your time day to day? What have you been neglecting that’s really important to you? Many successful people put as much time and thought into what they do in their time away from the office as they do in the office. Can you make connections between what you do for a living and what’s important to you? For example: perhaps you have an expensive hobby you are passionate about i.e. race car driving or flying planes. You are in a high paying career that you perhaps don’t love but it provides you with the time and money to race cars or fly planes. Find ways to love your work or at least be grateful for your career as it is providing you with the means to follow your passion of racing cars or flying planes-there is a connection to your values, there is a sense of purpose.

Values check

3. Competencies Check – Before jumping into any new passion, you should do some planning and strategizing to determine the type of business you are getting into. In the business world it is common to conduct a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Applying this same management tool can be very effective when applied personally. This helps you prepare for the best and the worst keeping in mind all the things that can either upgrade or degrade your business. Start with an assessment of your personal strengths and weaknesses. What are you really good at? What aren’t you so good at? Engage others to provide you with feedback in these areas as well. You may be surprised by hidden talents you have taken for granted or haven’t been using. Consider opportunities available to you today to utilize and optimize your strengths. For example: There are careers and businesses in existence today that weren’t around few years ago. The world is constantly changing and evolving and so are the opportunities. Look for the opportunities or create some new ones. As for threats, it’s important to recognize that they do exist and to plan to minimize or mitigate any risks. In case you feel the need to outsource it then you can go ahead and do the same to have better results.

4. Mindset Check – Lastly, it’s important to recognize that no one or one thing can make you happy. Only you can make yourself happy! So, take sometime out and give yourself that quality time for you to identify what you really would enjoy doing because you can't keep changing or switching when it comes to your career. Once you know what you are doing is not what you like then if you can take the risk, Leave it as it won't serve you anything. Pick your passion and get started because that's what will give you the ultimate happiness. Else you would just be crying and cribbing over something that you are forcing yourself to do.

I know people around me who have taken up their passion for dancing, photography and are doing exceptionally well. I can see the happiness in their eyes for what they are doing. Things are not easy but the only thing that keeps them going is their love for what they are doing. Once you have that passion or love inside you, you will leave no stone upturned to pursue their career.

But if you still can't figure out your passion then get in touch with the career coach or talk to the elders in your family, your mentors, teachers, anyone you feel would give you good advise. A coach can support you by working with you to help you find your passion, determine your career and life goals and then hold you accountable every step of the way. You have the ultimate mantra now so get started by understanding your passion first and I'm sure you will go a long way!
