Bucket List

June 17, 2018 2 Comments
Do you have a bucket list? I'm sure you would be having one but never realized, it is called bucket list. Let me make it easier by calling it as your wish list. If you don't have it then I urge you to have one.

Bucket List
What is a Bucket List?
Before that let me tell you what is a Bucket List? Bucket List is anything & everything that you wish to do before you die. It could "a dream that you wish to fulfill, a goal that you want to achieve or a life experience that you wish to experience before you die."

These days people do give it a lot of importance as 'Life is so unpredictable', you are clueless what is going to happen next. You never know while you were working so hard, day in and out assuming you have the rest of the life to do what you want but unfortunately that's not possible anymore. Just like the characters from the novel 'Fault in our stars' who are diagnosed with Cancer and are about to die, we don't know what future holds for us.
So, why not achieve, fulfill what you desire? I too have my bucket list which I almost completed and left it due to the busy life.

Inspiration - Marathi movie Bucket List
Only after watching Bollywood's evergreen beauty Madhuri Dixit's debut Marathi movie Bucket List on how a 40-year old woman who takes the task of checking off the wish-list of a teenaged heart donor, I realized how important it is to have a bucket list. The movie revolves around her adventures-turned-misadventures journey where her choices defines a newer version of her. You should definitely watch this movie for it's sheer meaning in a simple way. I have again shifted my attention towards my bucket list and have decided to add few things and started working towards fulfilling it. It could be big or small,  it all depends on you as it's your list. You could also have a couple or family bucket list.

Making a bucket list
Few things that I had in my bucket list as a teenager were -
✔️ Going for a night out to a friend's place (as my mom still is against it but somehow managed to go to one of my girl friend's house 😛)
✔️ Visiting a place where there's snow (went to Manali for my college Industrial Visit)
✔️ Clubbing
✔️ Celebrating my birthday in GOA
✔️ Buying a scooty for my 21st birthday
✔️ Scuba diving so on and so forth

Happily completed the above ones & now I have  another one 😄 You can create yours as well. Let me help you with few -
  • Travelling to a foreign country (as it is cheaper these days & like I always say you should travel, it is a wonderful experience)
  • Learning something new that you always wished for but never gave it a thought (dancing, singing, baking, learning a new language..)
  • Some experiences (scuba diving, parasailing, sky diving or any kind of sport)
  • Helping someone in need
Psychologists also suggest that you should have a bucket list.

Psychology also favors having bucket list
How to make a bucket list?
You can also ask yourself few questions like

"What if I were to die tomorrow? What would I wish to do before I die?"

and your list would be ready. This would also help you in discovering yourself - a new you :) Take a pen and a paper, start writing!

How to stay organised in your next move?

June 12, 2018 0 Comments
Staying organized comes naturally to some people whereas for some, it can be the worst nightmare. But eventually in the real world, staying organized is the key to success. Without being organized, more time, efforts and money are wasted. Also, mishaps are abound to happen most of the time, such as possibly breaking fragile items, losing important/valuable documents and items, increasing the possibility of having accidents, etc. When it comes to moving into a new house, it should be exciting, not a hassle. And to achieve this, being organized is the way to go.

Organize

How staying organised helps?

This is my personal experience when it comes to moving into a new house. Staying organized will save you a lot of efforts and money as you would know what you really need, what is to be thrown away so on and so forth. You will also be in a better place when it comes to unpacking as you would know where, what is kept without wasting much time in searching a thing.

With organizing stuff, you should make a moving day checklist. That way, you can easily determine what all is needed for moving, including boxes, labels, paper wrap, tape, markers etc. With the checklist, you can also decide what should be taken into account first as the movers take the packed items to the moving van. This way, everything can be done quickly and smoothly. If you decide to pack on your own, it's best to label the boxes so packing and moving your things to the next place will go quickly and smoothly.

Checklist will not just help you but also the movers in moving the materials from once place to the other. Especially when it comes to moving the fragile things, one needs to take special care to avoid any damage to the product.

Similarly when it comes to work, having a well-organised and clean folder, mailbox always helps. Especially when your boss is dancing on top of your head for a long, lost file and like always, he needs it ASAP! You search and search but to your disappointment, you don't find it even after spending hours in your cluttered mailbox to the folders in your laptop. That's when you realize only if you would have organised your mailbox or folders in a better way like having sticky notes, using folders or flags, you would have survived that monster ☺

These were just couple of examples which portrays how staying organised can help you.

Next question is how should I stay organised?

Here are few handy steps which you need to practice in order to stay organised when at work -

1. To-Do List
Have a to-do or checklist in place to pen down all the tasks so that you don't miss out on anything. Inculcate the habit of marking the tasks that are completed as this will take off your burden and also make you feel good.

2. Calendars
Ensure these are up-to date so that you know what you need to, when you need to do and what are the things that are lined up and needs your immediate attention. It also helps you to know if you can accommodate any new thing.

3. Prioritize
The most important thing where most of the people fail is when they don't understand how to prioritize their tasks/work. When in doubt, it is always better to check with your supervisors on the priority of the tasks to know which one should be completed first so that you don't land up working on something that is least important and missing on the most important ones.

4. Organize files/mails
You should organize your files and mails in such a way that it is easily found when you search for it. This will only happen when you structure them well with proper names and folder structure. Using labels also helps in fetching the data sooner.

5. Learn to say No!
I believe this is the most difficult thing as we as humans are bound to take too much work on ourselves than we can. It happens only when you don't analyse the amount of work you have and accept it blindly just to impress your boss. Only when you are close to the deadline, you realize and start rushing with the work in order to complete it. While doing so, you are back to your unorganized self where completing the work under any circumstances is your priority. Thus, messing up all the hardwork you put in to remain organised. So, think wisely before accepting anything and say no, if you can't because 'Quality is always the result of excellent work without compromise.'

Albert Einstein's quote on staying organised
Last but not the least, always remember the above quotes by Albert Einstein and keep an eye for the right opportunity! Do try these techniques and I'm sure your move will definitely serve you good results.

June 07, 2018 0 Comments
Ramzan ka mahina, if you are a hardcore non-vegetarian toh Mohammad Ali Road abhi tak nahi dekha toh kya dekha? Ultimate destination for all the hardcore non vegetarians.

Mohammad Ali Road looks like a beautifully lighten paradise with people from all walks of life and why wouldn't it as it is rightly said that during Ramadan month  the door of heaven opens while the door of hell is closed. It is the month of prayer, increased charity.

This place becomes very crowded especially during this month as people from all corners of the world come to experience the delicious, mouth watering food here. You will find both street food as well as restaurants, cheap to most expensive food. It all depends on which way you wanna go or rather what your tummy is ready to digest 😉

This time I visited the Bohri mohalla which is a lane adjacent to the famous Pappu juicewala. It's a narrow lane with number of shops & the best thing, they had sitting arrangements. Let's quickly jump to the variety of food, we hogged. I'm not going to describe it in detail like every other time as each one of it was equally tasty. Instead, I would suggest you all to try it for yourself before the end of Ramadan month i.e. 14th June 2018(date may vary)

A) Chicken Angara

We tasted Mango firni and it was amazing. Please do try it!

F) Taj ice-cream - Taj ice-creams are very famous and the most ancient ones started during the Era when electricity was a problem, these people used to prepare it manually. It is said that if you are an ice-cream lover than you can never miss having one from here which was founded in 1887 when having ice-cream was a luxury thing. Read more about it in the article published in TOI.
As it is the season for mangoes and per the recommendation from the owner, we had Mango ice-cream apart from the other 15 flavors that they served.

"Morning breakfast in a South Indian restaurant can never go wrong" provided it is suggested by me ;) Yet another place situated near Khar railway station which you can give a try if you happened to be close by waiting to enjoy some exotic South Indian cuisine.

Vrindavan is a vegetarian restaurant. We went there for a quick breakfast at 11am. And at this time too, the non A. C. was full & there was luckily only table free in A. C. which we occupied.

We ordered -
A) Medu wada sambar - The wadas were awesome. It was served with hot, delicious sambar and chutney. I felt like having another one round as it was super tasty.
