Are we loosing the human touch?

"Are we loosing the human touch?" In simpler words, are we loosing the human interaction? - This question popped up in my head when over the last weekend I visited my relatives house. Yes, it was a rainy weekend but we did not anticipate so much rain. Besides when mothers have planned it, there is very less probability of it being cancelled 😜

We visited a few of our relatives and wherever we went, they were very happy to see us. We were not just welcomed warmly but were also given the best of hospitality. The most common thing that I heard from the elders was that - these days no one visits them. Gone are the days when people would visit each other's house. There were times when people would cook food in large quantities in huge utensils as families, friends would reunite. But now these huge utensils are just laying in the store room.

Family Time
The other reason being people these days have moved into nuclear families and rarely have time to visit their parents or relatives due to hectic schedule. There used to be family gathering - number people under one roof, giggling - laughing etc. but slowly the houses have turned silent.

I still remember how my mom would cook more food and keep just in case any guest who visits us shouldn't return empty stomach. And those days, there used to be someone or the other visiting us. Gradually things have changed and I don't blame anyone because life is really busy. After working over the weekdays in offices, we keep our weekends for the pending work and some time for ourselves.

I know we are progressing and technology is changing within the fraction of seconds. At the click of the button, we can do video call and see the person from any corner of the world but do we feel the same warmth when you visit them personally? The answer is No. In order to get that feeling, you need to be there. It is always fun to hear stories from these elders and their experiences which would definitely help us in some way or the other. Also their blessings :) So, my sincere request would be once in a while please do visit your parents, grandparents or the elderly people in your family or surrounding because they need that attention. This will make them feel good and in turn make you feel even better!
